| The Lord watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. Ps 33:18 NLT

| He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving...... will have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. Rev 21: 7,8 I was challenged by the seriousness of fear and unbelief. A good reminder for me today in the world in which we live. There are lots of troubles but God is still in control. Thanks for praying for Karl. He is seemingly doing better. His care has been an extra load on his family. |

| Please pray for our grandson, Karl. He had surgery on Monday. Today was not as good a day. He has some possible problems. Pray that it will be worked out for God's honor and glory. Pray for Beth and Jason and also their 6 month old baby who is with them. He has a cold and cough. Thanks! for lifting them up to God in prayer! |

| I have been sitting in a class about "Mennonites in America". So I checked some of my books from my descendants to check when they came to America. I enjoyed reading some info. They escaped to PA from Germany and Switzerland to escape persecution but not all was rosy here either. This is a quote from the Clement Witmer Martin and Mary Zimmerman Martin book. Tradition says that in 1732, an immense swarm of lucusts destroyed many crops, In 1737 there was an earthquake, and the next year a heat wave killed many birds and animals, and some laborers died in the fields. The extreme cold of 1740-41 destoyed the deer and wild turkeys which the settlers depended on for meat. The drought of 1753-55 brought famine and heardship. On June 17, 1763, an unheard of hail storm killed many bird and animals and trees were stripped and crops destroyed. The winter of 1871 was known as the Hard Winter- the ponds had twenty inches of ice and animal' ears were frozen. |
